Welcome to the official home of the
D-Day Memorial Parade
On June 6, 1944, Allied forces crossed the English Channel and landed on the beaches of Normandy, France in a massive offensive to liberate Western Europe from the occupation of Nazi Germany. With 176,000 troops arriving by landing craft and ships, as well as nearly 14,000 aircraft, the Allied forces were able to secure Northern France within three months despite a vicious effort by Nazi forces. Thousands of American and Allied lives were lost but not in vain as this Invasion of German occupied France lead to Victory and restored Liberty.
The mission of the D-Day Memorial Parade and Memorial Ceremonies is to honor our WWII Veterans for their service to our nation and their sacrifice for the preservation of freedom and liberty around the world. We invite all to remember and learn the lessons of the past while joining together to celebrate that once bitter enemies can become friends and allies, as is the case today with the United States, Germany, Italy and Japan.
Our ceremonies will take place at the American Cemeteries in Brittany and Normandy, and the D-Day Memorial Parade and Concert De Libération are held each year in Sainte-Mère-Église in Normandy, France in commemoration of the anniversary of D-Day.
